Christmas Open House

Christmas is the most celebrated holiday in America . One of the many ways that people celebrate during the Christmas season is to have an open house. An open house is a social event where someone extends invitations to friends and neighbors to come and visit their home for part of an evening, to share food, drinks, and enjoy spending time with the friends they know, and begin new friendships. People can come for as short or as long a time as they like. Usually there is music or some other entertainment. There is always good food and a festive holiday atmosphere. At Christmas, it is a wonderful way to share a family's home with others, meet new people and share in the joy of the holiday.

The Christmas open house that you are invited to is to share the holiday atmosphere with the Klopfenstein family, be with friends, and meet new people. In addition to the international students, there will also be people from the community that are interested in being host families for international students. So come, enjoy good food and good times, and meet new friends.

The party will begin around 6:00PM and go on until 9:00 PM . People generally come for an hour or two, but there is no time requirement.

It is not necessary to bring gifts or food to this event. People usually dress casually. Men usually wear sport coats and ties, or jeans and sweaters. Women often wear skirts and dresses with holiday jewelry to accent their outfits, or jeans and sweaters, also.

The Klopfenstein's live near the Evanston campus. Their address is 2222 Orington Ave. Their phone number is #312-332-6003.

To participate this event, please RSVP to nwucssa@gmail.com with the following information:

Name:
Department: (if not from Northwestern, please indicate your school or occupation)

Because this is in a private home, we can only accept the FIRST 75 students who sign up. Each student must sign up individually. If you are planning on bringing a friend, each of you must RSVP.

We are looking forward to celebrating this wonderful holiday with you.

Best regards,

Joe Barrett
